I'm Masha

The storyteller behind the lens

Storytelling is part of who I am. For years, my storytelling was presented on the pages of newspapers, but now I'm stepping behind the camera to capture moments you hope to preserve with intention, artistry, and lasting impact.

Coming from the world of journalism, I know what it takes to observe and tell a story in captivating ways. My goal is to capture authenticity—the unscripted moments that make your day uniquely yours—and the meaning within the events unfolding in front of my camera.

MORE ABOUT Me

From rural Alberta

and a little bit beyond.

While Alberta is home for me, I was born in the Netherlands where I spent the majority of my childhood. My first introduction to Canada was a small Alberta town named Linden, but Calgary is now my home base.

I don't know what initially sparked the idea of becoming a journalist, but it’s something I was drawn to from an early age. I spent my junior high job-shadow day following a Calgary Herald reporter, and I immediately set my sights on the journalism program at Mount Royal University. After I received my degree, I worked for several newspapers, which I truly loved. Delving into new stories, listening to people share their experiences, and being the one who got to put it all together on paper for readers ultimately led me to my next venture.

Videography has been an ongoing hobby—now my big passion project and main focus. Let’s get to know each other. I want to hear your story and ideas!
