Spring Branding

The Tetz family has been working with cattle since 2019, steadily growing their herd over the years. For the past few seasons, they’ve continued the tradition of branding their animals and invited me out to document a practice rooted in ranches and farms across Alberta and beyond. The day began at a slower pace with cows being driven through the chute to be vaccinated and tagged (and some to be branded), but by afternoon, the energy picked up — with calves being roped, branded, and vaccinated in the middle of the dust, teamwork, and tradition.
